Create your personalized course for use with your students ("Add a course")

Here's a video stepping you through the process of building your first course. Following the video you'll find step-by-step instructions and screen captures explaining the process.


 


When you create a course for your students, you're providing a private instance of an Acrobatiq course tailored for your class needs. You have the opportunity to:

  1. Arrange or omit any material in the course.

  2. Title your course to match or complement your your class's name in the course catalog.

  3. Apply start and finish dates

  4. Determine the Course Key, which is a unique code you create that identifies your course (ex: stat101tues).

  5. Set the time zone where the course is being hosted.

To create your course using the "Add a Course" feature:

  1. Sign in with an instructor account.

  2. On the My Courses page click the "Add a Course" link.

  3. Enter your course title.

  4. Enter a course key. The course key is a unique code created by the instructor, that later helps directs you, your students, and your teaching assistants to your course. It is case-sensitive and may include letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores; no spaces or other characters are allowed.

  5. Choose a course in the "curriculum" field.

  6. At this point an orange box will appear labeled "Modify Syllabus." Click this button if you wish to reorganize the material or remove any units or modules. It's a simple drag-and-drop exercise to move entire units with their modules. When finished, click BACK to commit the changes and return to the settings fields.

  7. Enter your institution name.

  8. Provide the start and end dates.

  9. Enter the time zone. This time zone setting is purely informational, not functional. Be sure to set your USER PROFILE time zone, which is the time zone that controls how due dates are displayed to students.

  10. Click SAVE. After the course has been built you will find the course on your My Courses page.
